Hit theDownbeat.
Real maple drums. Real instruction. The first beat your kid will never forget — and they'll be playing it by Thursday.

Explore by Age & Level.
Filter by your child's age. Each tile is a window into what they'll learn, play, and feel.

The Very First Hit
Every journey starts with one boom-tap on a real snare. We hand them the sticks and let the room go quiet.
Warm-Up: The Paradiddle
R-L-R-R · L-R-L-L. Four syllables, four beats. Six-year-olds get this in 20 minutes flat.
Practice tip: Say it out loud while you play. "Para-diddle" = right-left-right-right. Try it on your knee first!
Do they need their own drums?

Nope! All instruments are provided in the studio. We do recommend a practice pad for home — we include one in the Free Practice Kit.

First Full Kit
At 9, students graduate to a full 5-piece kit. Bass drum, hi-hat, two toms, snare — the works.
Four-Way Coordination
Both hands, both feet — doing different things at the same time. This is where it gets real.
The secret? Start with just bass drum + hi-hat. Add snare on beat 2 and 4. Then layer the ride. One limb at a time.
What if my kid misses a session?

No stress. Each session is self-contained. We record a short catch-up video for absent students — ready in the parent portal within 24 hours.

The First Solo
32 bars. Just them and the kit. The room holds its breath.
Band Ensemble
At 11–12, drummers join our ensemble group — playing alongside guitar, keys, and bass students in joint sessions.
Reading Drum Notation
Quarter notes, eighth notes, rests — reading music unlocks every song ever written.
We use a color-coded notation system before switching to standard sheet music. Most students read basic charts within 6 weeks.
How many kids per session?
Tap to find out →
Maximum 6 students per instructor. Every kid gets hands-on time with the kit every single session — no waiting around.

What families are saying.
Marcus walked in not knowing which end of the stick to hold. By month three he was playing 'Seven Nation Army' for the whole family at Thanksgiving.
I played in a garage band in high school and always wanted that for my daughter. Rhythm gave her something I never had — real technique, real confidence.

The pickup line is full of parents talking about the program. My son Elijah literally counts down the hours until 3:15.
Six kids per instructor. That ratio is what sold us. Zoe actually gets her hands on the kit every single session.

The recital was the most nervous I've ever been for someone else. When Amara hit that first downbeat perfectly, I cried. I'm not a crier.
